You fellers ever seen that Bugs Bunny cartoon where Bugs is racing the turtle? Turns out there's several turtles (unknown to Bugs) and he loses the race. Anyway, I'm that turtle when it comes to spending money on my truck... other than basic care and feeding.

I'm feeling the need to, 'level-up,' my truck. I don't think engine and drivetrain bombs will be next (thus making this topic, "forum appropriate," since I won't be discussing engine and drivetrain). I do want you guys to know where I stand engine drivetrain - wise, and why I'm thinking of going in another direction.

Current set-up - RV 275's, EZ (always on most aggressive setting) with boost elbow, and MEK. I've never dyno'd. But from other's dyno runs with virtually the same set-up, I'm guessing I'm right at 300 RWHP, and maybe 650 torque. The reason I'm shying away from engine / drivetrain bombs is because I'm basically on the stock clutch's limit, and I have good power & economy for towing and everyday driving. 55,000 miles on the truck. I don't care to replace the clutch which is very likely with relatively a small amount of additional power. Even if I added 100 to 200 more h. p. , I still won't be the biggest and baddest. And to get 100 or 200 more h. p. , I think I'd have to put a lot of money into. I will wait on that, or not do it at all.

Well, the truck paid off back in April. And now my 4Runner will pay-off next month or so. I've been sockin' the money back to pay off debts versus incurring more debt by throwing money into my truck. So now removing payments makes me start thinking about leveling up my truck.

So here's my level up thoughts - What do you guys think about these ideas?

1. A-pillar gages, (boost, EGT, & fuel pressure). The reason I'm not gaged already is I feel EGT is my most critical gage and from what I've learned I should be running lower temps than a stock truck with my set-up mentioned above, under *most* circumstances. And I certainly know the value of pulling it down to 5th gear when towing steep hills to keep the boost up to keep the EGT's in check.

2. I want to bomb the stereo. Both the 4Runner and my Corolla (believe it or not) radios sound better than the Dodge. But it ain't too shabby either. I'd like to keep a totally stock radio and dash layout, and basically have sound system stealth bombs. I'd like to crank it up and have a feeling of ... . WOW. For this, I think I'll take it to a 'high-end' radio shop to see if my expectations can be met.

3. Spray in bedliner, Rhino-liner most likely.

Soooo, whadda you fellers think? Do these sound like reasonable bombs, or would you just stick to engine / drivetrain? TIA for giving me your thoughts.

I am not a stereo addict, and I know nothing about whats out there, but I would like to upgrade my speakers to handle a little more power, and also I would like a CD changer that I can load more than one cd into. I am looking for an economical solution. I am at work, so I can't tell you which system my truck has off the top of my head, I believe its the premium one. What do you suggest?
