Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) slow start

I don't know if it's my truck or me being paranoid, but recently it seems that it's taking longer for my truck to start up once I turn the key over. Is this a symptom to one of the common problems that I should be looking for? Any suggestions would be appreciated. I don't want what may be a small problem to turn into a larger one.

Have you R/R the fuel lines? The ones that are a PITA to change. If not, then the problem will get worse.

Is it cranking slower than normal? Or is turning over fine, but won't start?

If it is a fuel problem check out fuel lines, transfer pump, filter screen inside of fuel heater, filter screen on bottom of fuel module(fuel tank).

the truck turns over at the same speed, but I will have to admit I need some new batteries. I'm trying to find Optimas for a reasonable price. I live in Fairbanks, so many times the prices are just too high to believe. I'm trying to get them through aafes for a better price. I thought about replacing the contacts on the starter for safety, but I don't think they are bad. If I tap the skinny pedal a bit it starts right up. Also, which fuel lines need to be replaced, as I have not done that yet?
