Noise in NV4500 Transmission

I own a '95 with an Auto. It seems pretty slow to engage (slippage?) when stomping on the pedal from a stop. It just feels like the engine and turbo rev up and I am still sitting at the traffic light. Is this normal? It's all stock. It's so bad that a 1500 Suburban barely stomped on his pedal and blew me over.

I've had the transmission rebuilt under extended warranty at 45K and I have 65K now.

Any thoughts?

apply parking brake and chalk the wheels, put the truck in drive with it idling, and check fluid level, fill it to the full mark.

I had the same problem and filling it this way corrected it,

it is not the books way but it does work.

Joe,

Adam is probably correct. These transmission are a PITA to get the proper amount of fluid in them so it's not unusual for them to be low after being worked on. Have to be warmed up then put it in R and then D. Now you can check it idling in N. You also have to be on a level place. When I change the fluid in mine I measure how much I drained out and put that much back in so I don't have so much trouble getting it right again. Don't overfil because then it can get foamy. If you have someone else do it then it has a very good chance of being low again.

You can overfill it a bit...

Up to a quart to take care of any suction leaks. The wort thing that will happen is you might get a little fluid out of the breather. The full lines aren't always right on either.

Thanks for the tips. Fluid is a hair below full mark when hot and in neutral. I will add a bit more while checking in drive.

I changed fluid, filter and checked bands 2 months ago and everything looked clean.
