I tried to search on throttle return springs etc but did not have much luck. I pulled the 4 GSKs and put the stock springs back in to get rid of a terrible (when very cold) idle rebound (bounce or what every you want to call it). With a cold start and temps below zero, the engine would die on every return to idle. I keep my idle set at 900+ BTW! I tried clicks tighter, looser, one different from the other.....
I have ran 3K and then 4K Springs for a couple years now.
The stock springs have no bounce and work pretty well. I am sure I have then a little tight as I could not drop the idle (when warm it is dead on 1000) with the idle adjustment screw. I set them the same as I had the 4 GSKs... . two full turns after the first contact. With just slight pressure on the throttle lever pushing against the idle stop it would drop a couple hundred RPMS. I would rather make a adjustment to the throttle rod (would this even help) or put a stiffer throttle return spring on then turn the GSKs looser. Keep in mind everything is factory original (other then throttle lever recall parts) with 250K + miles.
In fact if I can get a handle on the idle I would like to turn the stock springs tighter... . if I can get away with it. With a warm engine, WOT in neutral sits right at 3200. For my use these might work out.
Thanks for any help with return springs (part number???) or other suggestions.
