I just changed my fuel filter I do this about every 10k and for the first time I found this white sludge clay like material in the bottom of the canister, there was even some jelly like material. I have had no problems and the water ln fuel light has never came on. Does anyone know what this substance was and if it could have caused some other problems down the fuel system. thanks in advance

My question would be where have I been buying fuel, where did I buy fuel last? Check your fuel tank for build up.

Sounds like a case of fuel algae..... get some treatment and use it on a somewhat regular basis.

Buy a locking fuel cap... . then you can pretty much rule out that it is some other form of "accidental contamination".....

Diesel algae is brown with the consistency of snot. You may want to consider what has happened since your last filter change, have you run very low on fuel for the first time? Many times there are floaters in the tank that will never get pumped out till the tank is low, may have taken years to build up.
