Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) sluggish on take off

01 stock truck auto trans , is sluggish on take off ,short on power.

RPM come up to about 11,00 to 12,00 pulls real good.

New injector pump less than 1,000 miles new filters fuel & air

Fass 150 Pump , No codes.

Fuel pressure Idel 16Psi wot 7psi

Boost 27 , Been to two diesel shops & one dealer they say I could not find a problem.

strats good hot or cold no problems.

Trucks runs good just slow on take of. could i have a injector problems

orignal injectors at 214. 000 miles. any Ideas

The old 47RE and 48RE four speed automatics were not noted for hard acceleration immediately from a stop, particularly if your truck has the standard 3. 54 gears. If you meant 1100 and 1200 rpm, that is barely off idle. The engine gets into the torque band at 1600 rpm. It should be capable of accelerating briskly once it reaches 1600 rpm and gets the truck rolling a little but don't expect it to spin the tires. The Cummins engine is a truck motor designed for pulling and hauling heavy loads, not rapid acceleration like a short stroke V8 gas engine.

High probability that the map sensor is not working correctly. To check it use a scanner to watch the #s the ecm is seeing vs a real gauge. Normally the truck will run much better at higher rpm than at very low when this is the case. All this is assuming you have no boost leaks

Sounded like my truck a few weeks ago. Throttle cable had a inch or more of play. Check that!



Is your gas pedal even with the brake pedal? Mine was much lower.
