I wan't to use a small b. o. m. b on my NEW 01. I was considering the v. a. or ez or maybe the edge. with these small additions(50 to 80 hp & 160 to 180ftlb) will my stock clutch with the 5spd take it? should i get a new clutch? centerforce? sachs? luk?

01 SLT+ 4X4,Q-CAB,SWB,3. 54,5spd,e-brake,all black,all leather,fully loaded,htd power mirrors,htd seats,full rhino lining bed and rocker panels,265/85r16 BFG ATs,nerf bars,everthing black,still stock engine.

You should be fine with your stock clutch with any one of those upgrades. The only exception would be a "Hot" PE might cause you to slip the clutch. I ran a stock clutch with an original powermax (275 hp/660 ft/lbs) for over a year and only slipped the clutch a couple of times when I was really abusing it at the sand dunes. If you decide to add injectors though then you'll be into clutch land. Welcome to the slippery slope! #ad

<font color=blue>Do you tow anything? If so what kind of weight we talking.

A VA or EZ alone, you shouldn't need to replace the clutch. However if you go much beyond that then yes you will, ecspecially when towing comes involved.

If you do get to where you need a clutch, forget about Centerforce and Luk... .
Others have tried them, they won't hold up.
The Donnelly-Modified Sachs is the way to go for up to 500HP, anything over that, you should look at McLeod dual disc clutches. Joe Donnelly has an excellent article on clutches and manual trannies in TDR issue 30.
The EZ Edge or Van Aaken or BD Plug-n-Play shouldn't put you over the limit, nor will a regular PowerEdge. I ran a regular PowerEdge for a long time with no clutch problems. The slipping started when the Diesel Dynamics stage 3 injectors went in. #ad

Keep in mind, the PowerEdge will give you more power than just the EZ, or VA.
