Small Forge

[BIGNASTY]

I need a small forge for heating of Horse shoes. I would like it to be coal heat as I dont want to invest in a propane company to heat the shoes. I have no access to Natural Gas so that is not an option. These are some ideas that I have seen and actually look and work pretty good. I was also thinking of an end of a propane tank. Any ideas? also would a hand bellows be able to work because of lack of electricity in the barn area. I would not have to pull out the generator to work.

BIG, Those are good ideas. See your other Forge post. You could make one out of a pipe , end cap, but it should have a cast iron fire pot. Forge fires can and will melt steel especially with forced air, CI gives a little more wear and protection.
