Have a small seeping on the left rear 4-5" of the pan. all the rest of the pan is dry. I did a small tighty on all the pan bolts and wiped the oil. see if it does it again... ...

How long does the pan gasket normally last? truck has 39K on it

If this is leaking again, I will wait till close to 5 yrs and have it replaced under warranty.....

Such a good idea to get under your truck once in a while and see whats going on... .....

When I had my 00 one side of the pan started had a damp spot on it just re-torqued the bolts and it stopped. The 99 that my son has started doing the same thing and I re-torqued them. Have not looked at it lately to see if it stopped. I think he had around 120000 when it started.

If the retorque doesn't work... then I suggest warranty it... if it leaks again later and won't fix itself... then warranty it... [repeat as necessary]...

You could spray clean it and put on bit of ultra black RTV. Are you sure it isn't comin from the dipstick attachment on the block above it?

it is dry above the gasket... ...

I just looked today and so far it seems to have stopped, Will keep an eye on it... ... .

This is a very common leak. Every 24V ive worked on has had this leak. I wouldnt worry about it unless its a real leak, all of these are just weeping. I hit mine, and my dad's with parts cleaner at every oil change, this keeps it from looking nasty and building up.

It happened to mine at about 20,000 miles. I tightened them, and is hasn't leaked since.

I passed 36,000 on my way to work today.
