I finished installing a DTT Smart Controller and got a 0973 code. (Overdrive Circuit Voltage Too Low) I triple checked all the wiring and it all looks good. This is before I even drove it to make the various adjustments.
When I took it out for the first time to set it up, I noticed:
-During the Drive Adjustment proceedure, the Unit Active light is supposed to be adjusted at 30mph until it just lights. However, the UA light as well as the Lockup light both come on at 25mph. When I try to adjust it, the UA light wont turn off at any point when dialing in the adjustment knob.
-The 2nd gear adjustment seems to work alright. The light can be turned off and on for adjustment.
-During the Overdrive Adjustment proceedure, the light works at my setpoint, but the transmission wont shift into overdrive until over 60 mph.
-Gear selector light on dash is way off.
- 2nd gear starts galore! Each time I start from a stop it's in 2nd gear. If I shut it off and restart it will go into first but once stopped, it will start in 2nd. I do have a DTT voltage regulator and at any adjustment, it still starts in 2nd. I bypassed the voltage regulator (back to stock) and the same 2nd gear starts. The voltage at stock was 4. 6v.
-When I take out the Smart Controller and replace it with the jumper plug, the transmission works mostly as normal. I don't get the 0973 code. It shifts into OD lockup at 50mph. Except I still get 2nd gear starts (w/ or w/o the voltage regulator)
-DTT didn't send me the relay jumper they show in the instructions. So I made one out of a piece of wire. However, I tried it with and without the jumper and I get the same results.
DTT is of course closed so I can't call them. Unless someone knows a way to contact somebody after hours. I would have to skip work in the morning to hopefully get some help from them.
