Hell no!!!! I was really afraid of that... just like your friends saying such and such movie or restaurant is so great and then you go check it out and it is decent but isn't quite as good as the expectations that you had been hyped up to. This downloader is fantastic. Even after all the hype. Got it in the mail yesterday, loaded in SW #5 with the mild torque management and WOW. I have ran both the Triple Dog and the Power Pup (power pup was my poison of choice) and the Smarty alone on #5 (60 hp) was leaps and bounds better than either of the bullydog products on extreme (130 hp) stacked with my quadzilla pressure box. And when i flip on the quad box with the smarty... look out!!! My tires really really hate this smarty. This is the first time i have been able to burn the tires from a stop with out power braking. All I can say is thanks a ton to Marco. I was afraid I was goign to have transmission shifting problems, which I had problems with from the Triple Dog and Power Pup on extreme, however to my surprise I didn't have any of these problems with the Smarty. Now to go and try out #9 and try the moderate TM download. Huge thumbs up... job well done.

oh yeah I have a couple questions... . is the high idle feature supposed to work for the 03s? I went out and tried to turn that on and can't seem to get it to kick on... what is the actual procedure for doing this??

The other thing... my gear indicator light is no longer on. All of the gears are lit but I no longer am able to tell what gear I am in besides knowing by feel of the gear shift lever. (is this normal) not really a big deal, just something i noticed.

Mine is an early 03 with the 47re. The high idle will not work on it. On mid year trucks it will work. I put a twist lock throttle cable on mine. Works great.

To start the high idle, you hit the cruise button--it will idle up to 1k. Then the accel button to raise it 100 rpm per click.

Thats really awesome to see an "SO" engine with the smarty - We (SO owners) are rare enough that not alot see a smarty...

BTW - I remember Marco (or Bob) stating that the SMARTY takes a SO up to the HO and beyond - in other words the smarty with SO and the smarty with HO will net same total HP...

nice!

Same observation here, Tomeygun. I have an 03 HO, but I tried the Smarty out on a friends 03 SO truck and what an amazing difference. Not to say that it is not amazing on the HO's, but on the SO's, it's like you add an additional 50 HP to each level.

yeah it is incredible. I tried out #9 today on the moderate TM... holy crap!!! Just a tad smoky (note the sarcasm) and maybe a little bit touchy on the throttle but totally managable. Very very impressive. Stacked with the pressure box and this thing is scary. Today I punched it to pass a guy going 40 and barked the tires, not to mention blacked out the folks behind me!

I think for a daily driver I might try either cutting back to the mild TM or try #3 or 5 with the moderate TM. All I can say is I am tickled to death with this.

FYI, I spoke to Bill with DTT before I got the smarty and he said that I may have issues with shifting because of the decreased TM and the very increased low end fueling but to my surprise when i loaded in #9 of the moderate TM it shifted like a charm... . possibly better than stock.

Great work guys and a big thanks to Bob, as well... just in the last two days I have gotten a lot of complements on my truck.
