Smarty and Commander

Hi I am looking for some honest feedback without any bashing.....

I would like to install the commander module in my truck and use it with the smarty.



My mind is made up about the smarty it's a done deal.



My question is with the commander, Any long term users out there with positive feedback?



Any issues with the commander or the install?



I really like the look of the caommander and the simplicity of having one stand alone gauge.

I don't have long term experience but I have a smarty, installed December 06, and a commander with the pillar mount, installed the same time. So far everything works great, it is nice to monitor everything, I have a manual transmission so I monitor my engine oil temp, water temp, injection pressure, turbo psi, EGT temp, I also have a glacier 2 micron fuel filter so I put the fuel pressure sender after it to monitor the fuel filter and gelling.

I'm not sure why your concerned about them working "together". One is a guage, and one is a programmer. I have them both, and yes, I like them both.

I did have some issues getting the Commander wired up correctly. Mostly my own installing issues, combined with instructions that werent completly throrough.

Same here. I need to update my Commander for the faster programming speed and well, just because. I like it and have the painted/matched pillar mount. I like it and the Smarty both.



Now if I can just find that stupid USB-jack plug that came with the Commander I can update it!

Mine didnt come with one.

No? Either they forgot yours or I am thinking of something I never had! It is a standard cable available from any computer store if I remember it correctly.

Not concerned about "them" working together but rather any long term feedback on the commander as a stand alone gauge instead of using old school analog gauges etc. But thanks for the feedback
