Just have a question about the Smarty. Since the Smarty puts the latest flash into the ECM, does it turn the oil pressure gauge into an idiot gauge? Luckily my truck never got that flash, so the oil pressure gauge is somewhat accurate.

Back when the smarty first came out I asked the very same question. They didn't know what I was talking about. Their response was that the stock reflash had all the current updates so I assumed that the revamped oil pressure update was included. I decided to keep my original programming, even though it doesn't have the high idle feature, and go with a fueling box.

I am sure that the oil pressure gauge on Black Sheep rises and falls with engine speed which would indicate the gauge is not an "idiot gauge". Black Sheep is Smarty-fied.

Godspeed,
Trent

Remember the gauge works normal until the sender fails, then it "paints" 40 lbs on the gauge all the time with that reflash.

So if your gauge to reading up and down the scale things are good. If your gauge read 40 lbs all the time, your sender most likely failed.
