Can anyone tell me why I keep getting the P0602 (checksum error) code when I have my smarty on my truck? I put it on my little brothers 05 and he got the same code and then I put on my buddies 03 and the same thing happened to his. The code goes away as soon as we pull the smarty off. My 05 will run for about 20 minutes with the smarty on it and then it it dies. I pulled my fuel filter out and it was completely dry. I returned my truck back to stock and it will start right up and act like nothing is wrong. This has happened to me 3 times and it is the same every time. Could my smarty be defective?

Po602 code will be set because you are altering the software in the ecm. when you reset back to stock the code goes away.

Marco may have elimated the code in the next software upgreades.

Nothing to panic about and all is good.

To avoid confusion ...

I'm working on the P0602 code thing but it's not ready for release yet.

I'll make sure to let you know once I'm ready.

Marco

I got my new SMARTY for my 06 and checked codes and got P0630 cleared it and nothing has come back yet.....

Loaded the SW3 first for a day and played around... .

Day 2 i loaded SW5 and played and just checked codes and have the P0602 now... .

The new software to do away with the nuisance P0602 code is published. If you choose to lose the P0602 Mads is the first to do it.

Thank you

Bob,

Is that the only change from the SMT3V310xxx version?? The 602 code has been around since my first download before Smarty a couple years ago. It does not affect anything I just ignore it. If I am clearing other codes then it gets cleared, otherwise never know it is there.

Hey guys, why is he running his filter housing dry?? Seems like for some reason his lift pump is getting shut down. I get the 602 code also, but it has never run my filter housing dry. Could he have something in the tank blocking fuel flow and the 602 code is coincidental? (most likely), afterall most of us get the 602. Or is Smarty somehow shutting off power to the lift pump??(unlikely, since no one else seems to have had such a problem).

The only time I ran my filter housing dry was in the winter and water was freezing around the in-tank sender, fuel was still fine but it was cold enough for free water to freeze and block fuel flow. I don't think the 602 code has anything to do with the "truck dying" problem.
