Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Smarty and Smoke

Anyone notice any more or less smoke running the even numbers over the odd numbers?



My truck seems to smoke more with the even SW's.



Just curious... .

I seem to think mine smokes a tad more on even SW's too. The difference is minimal and I can't be sure about it.

How does your smarty do on fuel milage? Does it actually help any or just read high on the overhead monitor? I'm still debating on getting one put in.

I have found that controlled driving can net ~1MPG increase over all. If you use the awesome bottom end power and blow black smoke at every shift you won't gain and possibily even loose a tad. Towing I gained approximately 1 MPG also on SW3. I havn't tried any other SW's for long distance towing.



BTW I don't have an overhead computer.



Don't even think twice about purchasing one, GO FOR IT

The odd numbers have timing which will clean up some smoke.

#9 seems to smoke less than 5



I have never tried any of the other settings
