"Theoretically"... were I to get the Smarty and install it and find that it did great to address driveability and throttle response on a daily driver, it still doesn't/wouldn't address that the truck wouldn't have the additional power to get me up the steep hills towing with my loaded camper without downshifts(which is why the finance committee... ahem... the Mrs. is allowing me to shop/research). "Sorry dear, need another tool... "

What's the best combo to get in conjunction with the Smarty if price is an issue? Smarty +

Injectors?

Edge Comp?

Transmission TC work?

?

Just full of questions today :)

injectors :D :D ... maybe dons 1. 6's(f-1, the only way to fly IMO). smoother power than a box, but might push the limits on the transmission :{ . smarty is definatly the thing to have... still saving my pennies Oo.

I am running the smarty on my stock 98. 5 24 valve. But need more fuel to run at WOT.

Fuel pressure is a consern, under load only5 to 8 PSI. I hope to up grade to a FASS 95 and 4" exhaust. Then work on turbo and injectors. I do not drag, have the stock clutch, but love the performance.

Keep a eye on your stock exhaust manifold the 98. 5-99 are bad about cracking at the turbo.
