smarty as a code reader on 'other' vehicles?

any one try this? i think a young lady i know is being lied to about her late model ford ranger and i'd like to help her out without buying another reader if possible.

I think it only links with the generation of truck it is built for. So, your answer is no, it won't work. Will it even plug in?

pretty sure it's the same plug but i haven't tried it... probably won't try it. just checkin if anyone knew. i haven't even laid hands on the truck yet and won't unless she asks.

tried it on my wife's Highlander wouldn't read it . Most the big box auto stores can do it for free
