Smarty, Edge, Banks

I see alot of talk Smarty vs Edge. . I am looking at the Banks Six Gun. Are there any known issues with the BAnks system?

I am not crazy about banks because I had the Big Hoss & was not impressed at all. My friend bought a six gun & I burnt him with just a edge comp. If you look around at what guys are running... . you could count the banks systems with one hand. The banks stuff does increase power... if you follow the guidelines & do the intercooler, exhaust, intake,etc. [who can afford the stuff?] I'd go with Edge Juice or Smarty for sure. The power is unbelievable & fully adjustable to your needs. I'm just giving advise from my experiences & not trying to trash banks in any way. My brother has the Bullydog T-dog stacked with EZ & likes it too. He bought a Edge juice & was gonna stack it with the T-dog, but found out that it won't work. I have the juice w/attitude for sale if interested.

I like my banks box. It is not as strong as the others but I got it dirt cheap used. It works well and it has never given me any trouble and it's been on my truck over 4 years.



With my smarty DDII's and Big Hoss, another truck with a Edge comp and DDII's beat me in HP on the dyno. Here is the graph.



If you are looking for ultimate HP Banks is not your ticket but if you want good usable towing smooth power look into the Banks.

Thanks for the graph. I really want it all, LOL. Would like to have good reliable pulling power without to much risk of engine damage. On occasion it would be nice to demonstrate through white smoke and noise pure horsepower. I like the idea of resetting the factory settings leaving no digital footprint with the smarty. I wonder if this is true. My experience with computers tells me that almost anything digital today is traceable.

What year is your truck?? I have a used 6-gun I would part with on the cheap. I have the thermocouple and boost/egt guages to go with it, I even have the instructions. It is the unit for the 325/600 motor. Pm me if your interested. By the way it isn't the PDA version just the six way switch.

Contact us for stacking. . and Banks,Only look at the PowerPDA the Six Gun Tuner is obsolete. when it comes to stacking,although some like the switch and gages more than the screen. By the way I have produce Over three additional RWHP (BANKS & Stack) and still have all the safety parameters available, its up to me for programing fueling. . T&C has a customer with over 350. 000 miles on the Six Gun Tuner and ONE built Transmission. (Upgrade)

Well, just to give you an idea of the differences in the Bnaks and the smarty, I just bought a truck with the banks power pack kit on it that cost the guy like $4000 at some shop. I power braked the truck to do a burnout and it wouldn't even turn them over. It was a little embarrassing. I pulled the six gun and guages and all the banks electronics out and installed the smarty on level 7. It is unreal. The truck has 37x13. 50 Xterrain tires by the way. This thing is wild. i ca sit at a dead stop and nail the pedal and the smarty is so quick on bottom end, it will smoke the tires. The only danger now is that these tires cost $500 a piece and I'm afraid their life span has been greatly reduced with the smarty on here. I've sold several smarty's and am using them on everything I own. And everytime I sell one to someone new, I just can't believe the power from just a downloader.

If your new here and all you know about diesel performance is the name Banks based on there million dollar marketing budget you need to slow down and try using the Search feature and you will find TONS of info and will soon learn why a large majority of us dont use Banks products.



Before you even start you nedd to decide on what is your goal in dieael performance. If your 100% stock and still under warranty and want to keep your warranty then dont do a thing and keep it that way until 100K or get a Smarty but be aware that once you get your first taste of insane amount of HP and TQ you may never stop.



If you dont care about your warranty and only need alittle more TQ for when your towing and dont have alot of $$$ to spend then a small quad box will work and shouldnt tear anything up.



Be careful because voided warranty's aside everything you do to your truck will have a negitive effect on another part on your truck and before you know it you have a few thousand wraped up in your transmission, another in a turbo, and then all you electronics and then fuel... . and so on and so on... .



The great equalizer is how many thousands it costs to make a transmission hold the power some of these electronics add. These transmission's wernt designed to hold an additional 130hp and 220tq, so keep that in mind... . Its a terriable terriable diesese this Diesel bombing is...
