I towed about 14K up some 1/2 mile grades over 12% for the first time with my new 09'. My 02' would scream up the hill like a lunatic pulling 18K at about 40 mph while my stock 09' lugged up the hill at about 20 mph. My Smarty on my 02' was just plain awesome for towing. In detuned (no Comp box- Smarty on #9 ) towing mode my 02' was good for probably 475 HP & 1000 ft lbs at the crank. Man, I miss that power but I do love my 09'

I just wanted to hear from the Smarty guys what numbers their able to use on trucks with the 68RFE with out tearing things up (loaded & unloaded). Also, has anyone had any DPF issues with the Smarty. I'm getting the itch for more ponies under the hood.

You might want to do some research, from my understanding, you can not reprogram an 09 or 10. The computer locks up if the parameters are changed from stock. You go into a no start mode and have to be towed to the dealer to get the ECM stock program back in it or have it replaced. They will also flag you you VIN and void your warranty.

I have a Smarty S67 installed on my truck. I have picked to use the level 3 in the software and all the other parameters are set at 2. I have achieved a 3+ solid gain in my mileage regardless if I am pulling or not. This level will provide 60 HP increase at the rear wheels according to the Mads Web Site.

I have pulled my trailer a couple of times after I installed the Smarty and I do not see any issues pulling. Granted I am not at the higher software levels but I am following Mads Electronic advice on their web site for the Smarty S67. On the web site there is a warning that sever engine/transmission damage can occur if the higher software levels are used without modifications to the engine/transmission. So I have chosen to stay in the safer zone of operations. For the rest of my mods see my sig below.

My truck was born on March 05, 2009, so does mean I have a the bootloader issue? I was wondering if they started using the new ecm right on the first day of march or was there a certain day in march (wishing for a later day) that they began? Thanks Gary

I'm going to have to wait for the software guru's to crack the bootloader codes because I have a March 09' build date. It's only a matter of time before it happens.
