Smarty Help?

i wanna update my stock 06's smarty to the moderate Tq management update and i was just wondering if anyone has any easy to follow directions?



Obviously i know i need the moderate update downloaded, but which driver or tool do i need to choose off the list... .



I have windows XP?





Also before doing the udates and hooking the smarty to the computer do i need to return the truck to stock settings before updating the smarty?...

you need unzip the driver and software into a new folder.



you need to load the software into the smarty usb and THEN PUSH THE SEND BUTTON.



if you dont load the file you will get an error message

"smarty file not found"

its simple and easy to do.

You only have to do the driver and program 1 time... . each subsequent time you need only download the smarty software file you wish to install... .



It's easier than it looks...

Do i need to return the truck to stock programming before updateing the SMARTY?

yup, cant be vin locked to update.

Forgot about the whole "VIN lock" deal..... never even crossed my mind..... :-laf :-laf ... . Thanks...

its does not have to go back to stock but you can for sure. how would the vin number change by not going back to stock?



If I leave my truck in level 9 and then update my smarty when I reconnect to the truck it will say stock software even though its level 9.



go back to stock and then stock is stock



you can go from level to level without going back to stock



it does mot matter
