Smarty High Idle with manual transmission

I've seen some folk saying the Smarty will enable the high idle feature using the cruise control. Is this also true for the manual transmission? At one time there was talk that one had to connect one of the ECM pins to ground to do this.

the ford f450 and both f650s at the lot that are tow truck use crusie control to set high idle. the f450 is 2004, the other f650's are 2005 and 2006. so what I am saying is maybe thats how the manufacturers are doing it these days. for me to run high idle I have to plug in my PPE.

I have it on my manual via the smarty, it works awesome! I just had to ground ECM pin 23 I think, (dont quote me on this) right to the engine block and it works perfect!

Is that marked on the ECM. I have the ECM pin, but have not done it yet.



I would like to get it done one of these days.

i have this mod done, it is the number 22 pin on the ecm. its the rear most connector second row over third down. see this thread
