Low boost/power after fuel filter change?

Has anybody put a boost fooler on with a smarty JR? I see boost spikes to 26psi but I only see 23-24psi sustained boost. The turbo is supposed to be good to 26 psi. If I put a boost fooler on will I mess up the smarty for normal accelleration or will the boost fooler just let me gain 2psi of boost and 10 hp. On a stock truck the boost foolers are supposed to add 10hp or so. What are the differences between boost foolers, BD and Quad? Which is better? Can I hook up an edge EZ minus the rail pressure, will that work?

Yes you can use he ez for boost fooling only function. The smarty will boost fool up to 44 psi. Did you install the boost elbow ?

No I have not installed the boost elbow. Joe Donnelly does not recommend it. On my '97 I didn't have a boost elbow and would see 32psi of boost with just my fuel plate and pump tweaks, that truck should have been wastegated at just over 20psi or so. I figured that if I could boost fool I would see a consistent 26 psi instead of 24 and gain another 10hp or so. I have an edge ez on my dad's truck but it went on the fritz. But maybe the boost fooling would still work. Bob would I be better off loading the POD software and turning the Perf program down to 80 % or so and see how that works? Thanks Bob

You will need a boost fooler and boost elbow. The boost elbow will raise you boost pressure since you have a mechanical/pressure operated waste gate, if you dont put a fooler of other box that acomplishes the same thing you will throw overboost codes. And a boost fooler without the elbow won't accomplish much performance wise.

The wastegate on the hy35 must be a lot larger than the hx 35. I have the boost elbow off of my '97 and it is adjustable. I will maybe try it out so that I could maybe get a couple more psi. I tried the 100hp program and the boost will not just peak at 26psi it will stay there fairly steady.
