DISEL SECRET Too good to be true?

Drop in Air Filters?

All,

I've loaded the Smarty Jr. Software and to say I'm impressed would be an understatement however, I do have a question. After loading the #2: TOW program I noticed that as I'm cruising around the 55 mph mark and start to accelerate the truck almost seems to miss or wheel/suspension hop. It will do it on program #3 as well. Anyone else ever experience this or have an idea on what the problem might be?

Thanks,

Tony, I was waiting for some customers to chime in. I have not heard of any issue similar to this.

Can you please check for codes and see if any are set.

Thanks

Probably is trans shutter however thanks for the input! The Smarty Jr. is kick arse for sure and I really like the way Bob Wagner has treated me and most likely the rest of us as well!

Tony,

Mine never did this on level 2. I have not tried level 3. When you say accelerate from 55, do you mean gradual or slam it?

How is your smoke BTW??

well what I have knowticed is that the Jr puts down some killer low end and unles you are on it to the point it will down shift or that it is already at a good speed and rpm the transmission just can't take the added power at the lower rpms you get when it doesn't down shift.

May I suggest you have someone with more truck experience do a ridealong to feel what you are experiencing. If your trans has had some heavy use adding any power can be enough to make it protest.

I could post another thread, and perhaps I will, but Bob4X4 and others, obviously these ATs are in need of upgrading when we "plug in" more power. I would love to do the same, but I am really leary about it w/o doing some trans upgrades in conjunction. Question is:

What is the cheapest and most reliable way to bolster these 48REs to handle the extra power from a Smarty Jr. or Sr. , etc. ? Your help is appreciated. Also, what kindof expense we talking here? Lastly, I live up in the Pacific NW, so shop recommendations also welcome! Thanks all!

on edit: Sorry, should have mentioned that I would personally NOT do any of the labor associated with an AT upgrade (would rely on the shop to install), so that would have to be part of the cost, too.
