Smarty Jr. She's a smoker now!

All,

Love the Smarty but the one thing that strikes me is the amount of smoke I'm seeing. Even under no load I'm getting smoke. Get on it... it will look like a locamotive. This is on both the Tow and Perf modes. I was following behind my wife yesterday as she was pulling our 5th Wheel and man rolling down the highway or under throttle it smokes! Any ideas and yes I did search the forum. Thanks all!

I have and no dice. This is not isolated to towing, it is all the time. Ideas?

Well it has to be worse towing vs non towing. Mine on level 1 (40hp) has a little smoke under moderate accleration but it does not obstruct my view of cars behind me. If I mash the pedal to pass, I get a good puff that clears up pretty quick. Same goes for level 2 (70hp) but worse on the mash the pedal thing. I never have tried level 3 as level 2 was good enough.



They are working on a beta verson of the software as we speak. Do you have a heavy foot? How is your air filter? You don't have any mods other than the Jr. ?



I drive like a grandma as it is so I don't smoke all that bad unless I mash the pedal to pass someone on the freeway. Accelerating from a stop onto an onramp I get a little smoke but not bad at all.



Towing on level 1 was way to much smoke. I never tried any other levels while towing.



We seem to have similar trucks except the 4x4 part.

no mods, smoke is heavy and i wish i had a puff and it cleared up! it smokes heavy!

I have been smoking more and more with the JR and the biggest reason was a dirty air filter. My afe was pretty dirty and it was smoking a little more than i thought it should, I put in my old amsoil nano filter and in no time it sucked the filter minder damn near in to the air box. so I put my oem filter with only 5k on it and I can can lay smoke with the best. With the added power of the jr you are asking alot more of our air filters and they can get dirty quick. I only had 10k on my afe since i had cleaned it last.

bought a new air filter today and that didnt work! anyone have ideas. it shouldnt smoke this bad.
