I have a 2011 6. 7L with a Manual; it has been deleted and running ok for about 1500 miles. I had the smarty Jr set on (timing:4) and (SWR:3). I drive conservatively but I prefer very little torque management and these settings seem to be the best for that.
By "running ok" I mean that the engine will buck and stumble violently when full throttle was applied, enough so that it will disable the cruise control--aside from that it performs how I would expect. Typically I only drive my truck to keep it maintained-it's not a daily driver so I have lived with the problem for now. I don't know why my truck is having these drivability problems, but I suspect it might be related to the intake components... Smarty's instructions are vague at best when addressing what to unplug or remove. I am planning on buying a complete intake (glacier diesel power) to try fixing this problem, but its damn expensive and I'm not willing to shell out the money right now.
Fast forward to present day. I found myself in a situation where I need to drive the truck daily for about a month. In an effort to correct the problem with the stumbling I added the newest programming to the smarty from their website but forgot that I needed the non-emissions (Middle Eastern) programming. After downloading to the Smarty and reflashing my truck I have multiple codes and a check engine light because my truck doesn't have emissions components installed anymore. But I can't correct my Smarty because I don't see the ME programming in MAD's website anymore.
Did they get rid of the ME programming?
Any thoughts on the stumbling at WOT? I have the EGR unplugged from the plug on the front (towards the radiator)of the intake horn and nothing else unplugged. It seems that the instructions "might" be different based on what year the truck is.
My truck hasn't gone into limp mode (yet) and I have driven about 40 miles to and from work (20 mile drive each way).
It's a holiday and I can't get in touch with Smarty support but i am sending an email and I will keep trying to reach them.
Thanks in advance for any ideas.
I'm hoping it's something simple I'm missing. Please let me know if I simply overlooked a small detail on Mads' webiste.
