Was just wondering pros and cons of each on a stock truck except afe. I am debating which way to go since attitude gives you gauges or should I just install a set of gauges and the smarty. Do some light towing from time to time about 10 k but mainly unloaded and not usually towing on any long hills.

Just like everyone has told me as being a new comer to bombing a truck. The upmost things to do is get exhaust and intake (i see you have a good one already) you want to try and do as much possible to improve airflow before bombing. I went with the juice with attitude cause it's a nice combo for the price (kinda like a 2 in 1). I also have more upgrades to do myself such as turbo, FASS, transmission etc, and the attitude provides transmission anti-slippage and also can warn you by beeping if you are reaching high temps etc, etc. It also has a turbo cool-down timer to reduce your EGT to a appropriate level after you have been running hard. Like myself, I was antsy for more power but it has proven to be beneficial and listen to people telling me to upgrade exhaust, intake before moving onto providing hp. With a stock turbo and transmission you have to be very careful to not tear something up. The juice also of course has a tow mode which i think on avg is like 40 hp and 100 torque for tow mode. But like ive been told, i have a banks exhaust and aem air intake and I can hear my turbo making a noise if i hit it hard soo that lets you know its hard to expect alot until u are willing to upgrade the other critical parts of your truck. Be smart, play safe and get exhaust and gauges to monitor before bombing. Just my two cents.

Blassiter has a lot of good points... . Don't forget . . you can't adjust the Smarty on the fly... . thats a big advantage the Edge has over the Smarty... . other than that , you make the choice... both very good units... . oh..... dump your stock lift pump, while you have a chance... .

Yea i know about the exhaust and intake right now has muffler delete. But will be upgraded in time. Im not as concerned about the transmission protections since I have a 5spd and hx35 turbo its not gonna do me alot of good and I know stock clutch wont last long once on the mod train so already saving for it. My main goal is trying to figure which way I want to go and get some type of gauges soon, to monitor fuel pressure from lift pump since i know they dont last long. Overall goal is to get to somewhere around the 400 horsepower range and still be reliable.

The Smarty and a Juice box are two different animals..... The Juice will produce more HP but the Smarty adds driveability. The choice really depends on what you want from your truck.

I agree w/ Jetpilot... . depends on what you want to do with your truck. I'd say slap both on there and you'd def have something

I like them both they work awsome together , but for what yr looking for i would go Edge first , the features are really nice lots of controls if needed

I figure I'll add a few more cents to this conversation. Not much more though as I agree with everything you all have already said.

I went with the Edge Juice with Attitude. I needed gauges and wanted the performance gains. You get great performance gains and more gauges than you'll know what to do with! IMO, it's the best upgrade (read, Bang for the Buck) I have ever installed on any car or truck. And I've had a lot and left nothing stock.

As for drivablity, I leave mine set to either 5x5 0r 3x5 and I get a few more miles to gallon than stock and have a hard time keeping my foot out of it. It really is a ton (three tons actually) of fun.

I plan on getting a four inch exhaust very soon and a Smarty if I can ever afford it.

BTW, this truck is my daily driver and I only tow a single car on rare occasions.
