Smarty Question

I still have a lingering question as to whether or not my truck (bought used) has a program downloaded into it already. I will have gauges installed by this weekend and want some sort of power adder.



IF, there is a program of unknown origin downloaded, can the Smarty remove, cover up or otherwise somehow deal with whatever may be in there?



My hope is that I will see stock boost levels once the gauges are in and I will have no worries. If not I am trying to formulate a back-up plan. Which leads to the question, is there any way to return the ECM to stock settings if an unknown program is in there? Is there any way to figure out whose program it is?

If your dealer is friendly, ask them to determine if it's aftermarket code and see how much they want to re-flash it with latest factory level if it is. Now you have your known base level. Just a thought...

Just give Bob Wagner a call

He told me if there was other software in the truck they could write a program to get it off. If you purchase the smarty from him he made it sound like this would be at no charge. What a great Company. They are not afraid of making the customer happy. I called Bob several times and asked him all the same questions before i purchased. He wasn't pushy to make the sale.
