It has been a long time since I posted. I generally do not run above Rail pressure 1 or 2. I recently replaced my stock injectors (259Kmiles) with new Bosch +50hp injectors. I have read elevated rail pressure can lead to early injector failure due to cracked bodies. In the same article it stated elevated pressures were "OK" with aftermarket injectors. Can I run rail pressure 3 or 4 safely as a daily driver for extended periods or should I stick with Stock pressure or #2.

With the new injectors almost immediately she threw codes for overboost with the wastegate set to stock. I do not have an electronically controlled wastegate, but noticed it went away when selecting "OFF".

I am currently running SW5 Tq4 Rail 2 Timing 3 Gate off.

Thanks

What boost pressure does the Smarty throw a code? That must be pretty high. My Smarty Jr hasnt thrown a code at anything below 40psi. Id hate to punish me he351 above 40psi. Hell I keep it below 30psi as it is. Only been to 35psi a few times during tuning.

But I agree, keeping rail pressure at factory levels is best unless your competition inclined with deep pockets.

I have a Westach Dual Combo Boost/egt on the A-pillar. I never saw more than 30psi register when I was getting Overboost codes. Faulty gauge?

If the WG setting was off it will throw a code the same as stock, so it might be an accurate gauge.

I don't have an electronically controlled wastegate. In the "Stock" setting it throws the OVERBOOST code. As soon as I set it to OFF, I no longer get an overboost code. Strange huh?

Not at all.

All it’s doing is changing the max boost for a code from stock to unlimited.
