i work on maybe one or two trucks a month out of my house garage for freinds or their freinds and have always told people that i don't like programmers because i believe they can be found by dealerships and are a greater risk to the software on the newer computer dependent trucks ...
if a box has problems just unplug it and you're back to stock ...
lately the smarty has been changing my opinion ... looks too good to be true:-laf
so a good friend of mine recently purchased two used '06s ...
one is an auto still under warranty and the other is a manual out of warranty ...
he does not want to worry about pushing buttons and adjustability, just wants to roll a little smoke and be able to play around a little ...
the exact same requirements my wife gave me a couple of weeks ago ...
so here are my questions;
1) can a smarty be used on two different trucks ... not at the same time ... but can he run it in his company truck during the week and then in the wifes truck when they go on a weekend trip
2) what is a good level for him to be able to smoke a tailgater but not a clutch ... his truck is a 3500 long be with an aluminum bed and 1500lb welder
3) what level for an empty 2500 (both his wifes truck and mine)
4) has anyone had a dealer find any trace of the smarty ... his truck is out of warranty but both of our wives trucks aren't
5) is there any kind of tdr membership discount available ... looks like we'll be ordering one this week for him and depending on how it goes another for the boss next month
thanks guys
