1. How smooth is the power?

I've got a buddy that has a smarty set on 3 all the time with the addition of a little pressure from an EZ, I have driven it and it is very smooth but would it be about the same smoothness without an EZ (I know power would be a little different).

2. Would I notice any MPG gains?

It's not the reason for buying one but would be a huge plus, I'd like to hear from people that have hand calculated it.

Thanks in advance guys.

I drive pretty hard i have 12000 miles on my truck and i improved atleast 1mpg under my heavy foot and that is in town i could easily see +2mpg on SW#3

I think the current loads are pretty smooth. My only complaint is that they tend to smoke a bit under light throttle and < 2000 RPM. Currently I am running a beta load which is MUCH better with smoke control. It is pretty clean until you nail it and even then it clears up fairly quick. I think it is only available in a 150 HP setting right now and I'm not sure when it will be officially release and have detuned versions like it for lower power/temp needs. I have an '05 so I'm not sure it is a fair comparison to an '03, but probably close. I did run the beta program before I had the turbo and clutch which was a mistake - stock clutch couldn't take it so I had to upgrade (oh darn). Before I did the clutch and turbo I was running #1 mild torque management all the time and picked up about 1/2 - 1 MPG depending on my speeds. Running 75 I would get 17. 5, 65 about 19. 5 (this is where I saw the 1 MPG gain but for some reason is a speed I can never drive). I haven't calculated current mileage now that I have the turbo - gotta wait until the fun factor has gone down a bit :-laf

I think the power is extremely smooth with just the Smarty and it doesn't really smoke on SW#3 unless I want it to:D. So far I've noticed about a 3 mpg increase over my stock setup. I'm sure my fuel economy would be better with 3:73's in the diffs instead of 4:10's, but I'm sure I'll appreciate them more once my 35" MT ATZ's make it on.

I've seen 1mpg improvement. I've only used Sw1 and Sw3. I've also seen EGT reduction of about 150deg when towing the Jeep and trailer.

I've seen 2-3 mpg improvement on #3 (hand calculated). I drive about 75% highway at about 60mph and the rest short trips. I averaged about 18. 5 before Smarty, now 20. 5-21. 5 on a regular basis.

Well I just ordered a smarty, thanks for all the replies fellas, I feel like a little boy waiting for Christmas Day... can't hardly wait.
