Smarty questions

Brother in law ordered a smarty, straight exhaust, egr delete kit and guages a couple of months ago, but as is usually the case business got busy so he didn't get around to installing everything 'till this weekend ...

he ordered a S-67ME, however all the included paperwork doesn't have the ME suffix ...

QUESTION #1; is there any way to confirm that he does in fact have the ME ?

QUESTION #3; can he use his smarty as a scan tool on his wife's '09 to activate high idle on her truck?

QUESTION #4; can I use his smarty to clear codes on my '01?



he installed straight pipe and smarty last night and the truck runs great ...

he HAS NOT done the EGR delete yet (sitting in garage) and has a check engine light ... hopes to cure both problems tonight



this is his daily driver, dozer/equipment business billboard ...

he is running 8 inches of lift and dual rear wheel 40" tires ...

so as can be imagined his clutch is very unhappy, a situation he hopes to remedy with a call to South Bend clutch today or tomorrow as business permits ...

QUESTION #2; What is the newest - bestest clutch setup for the G-56?

Question #1 - I believe the Smarty is shipped w/ the "S" software, and he will have to go on the MADS website and download the "ME" software. Also when he first hooks up the Smarty to the ECM, it should read a number and ME at the end.

Question #2 - South Bend DD3250 is sufficient for most w/ added power on daily driving/towing.

Question #3 - He can use it as a code reader w/ the '09. . To get the high idle to work, he would have to put the Smarty back to stock on his truck, and load a program on the '09 truck. I believe it will automatically load the high idle when you do the above. Should keep the high idle once the '09 is flashed back to stock.

Question #4 - I don't think so. .

I had the Smarty on my '05, but not my '09... . yet.

I have the Smarty for my 05, and it will not read the codes on my 01.
