Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Smarty REVO barking

Anybody else see their smary barking the turbo on trans shifts?



I'm set on SW8 tq 6 timing 0 duration 0. Drag comp is off unless I need it... . Barks the turbo at certain throttle positions, about mid throttle, going into OD.



Also anybody play yet with the duration with a drag comp? I only drive my truck on weekends, got this lil over a week ago on demo from Bob. I'm impressed! But not sure if I should put the money into a smarty and keep my comp. Or maybe a smarty with something else... or maybe a quad ADR... .

The first time I tried TQ6 the truck litterly jumped out from under me. If there had been someone in front of me I would have been giving them my insurance company information. The boost built so fast that the TST really fired hard. I was not ready for that to happen at all.



With TQ6 I spool incredibly fast, no barking with my twins though. But with a big single like yours I could see how yours might.

Haven't tried setting the TQ down... I'll try that...



I still take a bit to spool even on TQ 6.



I did find a setting yesterday that made me about 90% certain I'm gonna stick with the SMARTY. I set it on 1/2 power, and it's very hard to get smoke, or high egt's out of it... Makes it VERY nice if my wife wants to borrow the truck to pull her horse trailer! Otherwise With the injectors I have and the turbo (comp off), it'll get toasty pulling up a hill if you don't pay attention... .

since I have a 6 speed its diff, but the old smarty SW barked the turbo easier to me. with new revo I have to make it bark. I have to speed shift and it will bark. that is with 62/14 htt.
