close diesel shop in Columbia, S.C.

I have my Smarty set on LEVEL 1 (30hp), default timing (2) and torque managment (2-mild) and stock rail pressure (1)

I had the Smarty set on LEVEL 1 with stock torque management and after setting it to MILD, I noticed a definate kick in the pants down low while towing. Seemed like it had alot more torque starting at 1400rpm to 1800rpm compared to stock torque management.

I just changed my trans fluid with 3k miles on it (I had to change my temp sensor) and I noticed what appeared to be more than usual debris on the magnet. The black compound was very fine, no chunks, just what seemed alot for only 3k miles.

Question: with my stock trans and the Smarty set on MILD torque management, do you think I'm tearing up my clutches more than if its set on STOCK torque management. I say yes... but want some advise.

My theory is that with all of the added power in my mods, I'm only using about 1/2 throttle when towing compared to full throttle before mods and my trans fluid pressure is probably only about 65-80 psi instead of 125psi at full throttle. Therefore, I'm tearing up my clutches due to "low" fluid pressure, especially with the massive torque down low provided by the Smarty set on MILD.

My goal is to make the trans last as long as possible now with economy in the dumps. I have my "new" trans" all spec'd out on paper and in my mind, but dont have the funds to pull the trigger... so I need to make it last.

Thanks,

Louis

I agree with you on all accounts. I haven't even tried anything over mild TQ Mang. to save the transmission and I have a full DTT. I don't think I'd do anything over stock TQ on a stock trans.

My first response was "LET ER RIP" obama will compensate you.

Back it off, go to stock tm, your stock transmission is not going to handle anything over stock power.

Another way to look at it

remove all t management we need to start spending heavily to jump start the economy

I agree, as long as it is an individual's money, and not tax Dollars!

I currently live in washington state, the voted in girls of this state, believe they know how to spend my $s, more wisely than myself. They are wrong!

I am going to sell out, and move. I wonder what the girls will do... when all the producers, leave. They have never had to earn their own way. This is also true on the national level... .
