I have a 06 3500 Mega Cab w/G56, my intake is stock my exhaust has a muffler delete and a cat test pipe, so basically straight 4" from turbo back. I got a 06 smarty, played with it alittle with no load (great product :-laf ) but this week I am hooking up a 10,000# trailer with temps below freezing what setting can I set the Smarty on safely being I don't have an EGT installed (yet). I am in Minnesota, no long hills and I drive pretty easy.

Without a gauge you're running blind, I don't think anyone can answer you're question with any certainty... too many variables... gotta get gauge's, or at least one!!

I second that, it would be risky and I personally wouldn't do it. But knowing my truck and seeing the temps, even while towing, it's extremely hard for me to get it past 1350. Maybe it's possible on a sustained grade. The smarty does lower you EGT's a bit. You'll probably be ok on SW#1 but I still wouldn't risk it.

The temps are lower than stock on level 1... ... ..... Your driving style has a lot to do with egts. Don't do any lugging and you'll be fine.
