Smarty SSR

I read on Power Products Unlimited - MADS Smarty SSR 03-07 5. 9L Dodge Cummins Programmer/ Tuner that the Smarty SSR is not to be installed on a stock truck. This is their comment NOTE: THE SSR IS NOT FOR A STOCK OR EVEN CLOSE TO STOCK TRUCK! IF YOU ARE UNSURE ABOUT YOU OR YOUR TRUCKS READINESS FOR SSR GIVE US CALL BEFORE ORDERING!!!!! Is this really true?? Only thing I have done to my truck is I had the transmission rebuilt. And no I can say what was done other than I told them to put the heaviest duty parts in it. TC, VB and bands. Local shops here dont have anyone who I thought really specialized in 48re. So is this true that I shouldnt use it on my truck??

IMHO the stock trans and stock turbo are maxed out at stock power. You can get away with small power up grade on a stock truck such as the smarty jr. I won't even think of running a regular smarty (much less the TNT SW) on a stock truck. If all you have is a built transmission, then you are no where close to ready to run higher hp. I would also doubt that if you trans isn't build by someone the knows what they are doing, it probably won't take too much extra hp.

A dyno is a must have for SSR tuning.
