I've had my Smarty Jr. for quite some time. It has always made my exhaust stink real bad at idle. It doesn't smoke or do anything else bad.
I recently put it back to soick for a dealer visit and I really like that it doesn't funk up the area every time I stop. With or without SmJr my truck does tend to idle closer to 800 RPM but they tell me that is close enough to stock that it should effect it.

It doesn't need any update.

I've called them and they cant suggest much other than to change the timing to 3 or 4 but really, that shouldn't have any effect at idle. And how would those setting effect power?

Anybody have an idea what's going on?

Thanks,
Scott

Update it anyway, no telling how the bits and bytes are aligned. 800 rom on a manual was in one of the Dodge update flashes, should not really matter to the combustion event.
The timing will effect the initial settings, mileage effects the event quality, refresh the knowledge on injectors and how old they are. You really should think about a Touch and UDC Pro tuning for best effects. Its only money. :)

"Only money" but I'm getting to be more of a tightwad every day! OTOH, I've never had anyone tell me to get my bits aligned ( although I mentioned it to my wife and she liked the idea for some reason..).

The injectors are original with only 104K. Had extra fuel filtering for 30K.
It kinda seems like I'm having to crank it more than I once did. I'm considering a re-torque of the crossover tubes soon.

Wound't setting the timing to 3 or 4 cost me some efficiency and torque?
