Smarty Suggestions....

I received my Smarty today and uploaded #1 at lunchtime. Much more responsive. Going to try #2 for the drive home.



Anybody have any recommendation's for increases fuel economy.

If I keep my foot out of it is there any problem in running any of the software upgrades ihe longevity department?

In terms of longevity... I do not see any gauges listed, so you could run into some issues pretty quick if you are not careful. That is something that I would not recommend. Most peolple around here will say that these motors run hot stock, so you need to watch the EGTs.



And in terms of level #2, I am pretty sure that is without timing, so you are just adding a lot of extra fuel and fuel w/o timing tends to get hot very quick.

From you signature it appears you probably have a stock automatic and no gauges. I would not venture past sw#3 if this is the situation, and probably not even that high if you plan on towing anything.



I know it is very tempting,but for the sake of your truck and your pocket book it is just not worth it IMO.



I believe I have heard most people comment that sw#3 also gave them the best mileage also. I personally have not checked my mileage to any extent so I can not say for sure.

The gauges are on the way. Haven't got around to installing them yet. I don't run teh truck hard to begin with but no need to push it.

I think I will keep it at #1 until they can be installed.

I've seen this question asked several times. I've also seen Bob Wagner respond that #1 is the fuel economy setting. Above that, it's probably gonna drop.

i have mine on sw#3 and have no problems with temps mo matter what i do and i have gauges for trans,pyro and boost. going from 1-3 will make a nice power difference and will still boost the feul economy up 2-3mph on the highway
