@Rip Rook To be honest I really don't know who you are and how you fit in with the Smarty Touch product I own. I shouldn't have to know who all the players are simply to use and enjoy a product. More specific to not knowing and past PAIN seeing two separate sites in the past with only one having newer flash revisions...
I am, however, going to publicly suggest YOU and others involved with the Smarty offering figure out how to keep the "mess" and specifically this awful mess a little more transparent to the end consumer. Personally I really don't give a damn who is to blame. Further I wish your phone support wouldn't waste MY TIME with some ex-employee hacker story about whatever site like some did last week.
You see all this B.S. is just that and in my way to obtain a replacement parts. Yeah thoughts about MY information being stolen from "Hack" of said site. Was it hacked? Was information stolen? Was the FBI contacted over the "Hack"? Or was it just a foul up during a site makeover?
I needed and finally obtained an EGT manifold probe that was damaged during a repair with a 2nd phone call this week. (Thank You) Yes, I could simply contact any reseller and buy an entire EGT probe kit, however, I would rather just get the single damaged part from the kit. In the future I will need another "housing" for the Smarty Touch because the Hot Phoenix Sun has it's way with more than just dashboards and sadly this includes Smarty Touch housings.
Don't get me wrong: I love the Smarty Touch, the UDP that allows independent tuners, and the display that includes EGT. The said gauge display has allowed me to improve oddball things that don't make it go faster like Air Conditioning. It's saved me quite a bit of refrigerant with a user set 400 Psig Alarm.
For the sake of the product and reputations it's time to "Own it" with "we had a problem with site changes and fixed it". Corporate decisions were made to change up a site, shut down forums, change support tickets, whatever. The community coming together to support your( or is it "a") product speaks volumes about how much owners/customers/enthusiasts care about it. Numbers that I call (ahem the exact number your post has) for parts/warranty wasting my time about the above site BS and requiring a second phone call to solve the problem is why I am calling you out (fair or not) to help solve the customer service problem that as of last week isn't helpful to reputation of EVERYONE involved.
