The Smarty manual says not to expose the Smarty S-06 POD to temperatures below 32F because it may damage it. I have the truck set at #2. I am going out to Utah next week towing an ATV trailer. I want to bring the Smarty along incase I need to change the program. However I will be camping and the temperature may get as low as 10*F. Will it really get damaged? Are they ever shipped in the winter months?

i know it says it should not be stored in low temperatures. and thats cause it has i liquid display that can freeze. . but i live i finland and i can tell it have spent some nights in minus 10-25 celcius and not a problem others in sweden have gotten bad displays after minus 5-10 celcius. . its a recomendation. you simply do it on your own risk and yes they ship during winter to. think about one thing its not as cold in your truck as outside, or if your really afraid of damaging it put inside your jacket or sleeping bag when you go to sleep!

Same here... I keep mine hooked up all the time, year round. When it gets really cold, the display isn't very readable, and blanks out... but just let 'er warm up, and it'll be fine!
