Actually I have not much time to play with those things, way too much other stuff to work on, but sooner or later it'll come.

I've not yet looked into the CC high idle . At this moment I have no clue if it can be done. I understand that there are a lot of things you guys would like to have, yet I can't do everything right now. We need to start from somewhere and Smarty already offers many more options than others.....

How about using the PTO wire to activate the high idle feature?

The manuel high idle option sounds sweet since my truck did not like the high idle option on the Catcher. Had to send it back to get it removed. This will hopefully give me the option to use it in the NE winters.

I understand that you have a million things on the go Marco-just planting the seed while it was still fresh in my head. I have the Practical Solutions high idler now-it works just fine-but high idle with the cruise control similar to the 3rd gen stuff and big stuff would be just that much slicker.

Well, can't wait to take my truck to the st(d)ealer on the "dog" setting and have them tell me I need a new engine or some such nonsense for some big $$$$ repairs.

Just kidding... . :D

Just out of curiosity, what is this setting for?

I cant take credit for this it was posted earlier "The Half power setting is used when you let your siblings, or for that fact friends use your truck"

It might make emissions tests easier too.

Ok, I have been reading about smarty and I like what I see. This is what most of us have been waiting for. Is running on level 8 and 9 on a stock truck an invatation for sky high egt's like most high performance box's? I know I can just run at lower levels but... . Just curious what I can expect to see without mods.

You should have no problem with egt's on level #9. It's only going to fuel as heavy as an Edge EZ on top but you be amazed at the throttle response.

Trying to catch up...

Can the 47RE shift points be re-programmed through the ECM.

Nope, the shift points reside in the PCM not in the ECM. Smarty deals with the ECM.

That's what I would have liked most. No way... :{

Oh well, it's a good investment. Ok, it's a fun investment.

It's a SMART(Y) investment! ;) :D :-laf :)

My mom always told me I could grow up and be Smart(y). Now I can just buy one. Much more hopeful that way. :-laf

No more Lag! No more Lag! No more Lag!

Testing the Smarty

My beta test unit arrived this afternoon. The first thing I did was check for DTC's I had both high & low oil pressure codes. I cleared them & installed CaTCHER #9 so as to compare it with my earlier CaTCHER program. My first impression after a short test run was that the throttle seemed unchanged on the bottom but perhaps fuels slightly heavier toward the middle of the throttle. I'll be playing around with the various programs for a few days before I run a few tanks on the fuel saver program. Oo.

Play  I thought this was work  I mean after all you are evaluating and testing and comparing and taking notes and will be drafting a report for publishing to your peers  Sure sounds like work to me :D

Possibly a Labor of Love?:)

changing programs

It's really easy to change programs with the Smarty. :) I had to run down the highway a mile or so but I took two minutes & installed #7. There is a noticeable change in the feel of the throttle. It seems to me like the same kind of power but it takes a little more movement of the the go pedal. I'm sure some folks would like this better than #9 but I'm not sure I do. :D
