Numbers...
OK, last MSG for today, then I'll quit. Promise!
I'd like to try to explain how the different sw's in Smarty are laid out and most importantly the reasoning behind it.
You know that I don't like hype. Not my way. Facts no hype.
Fact is that my softwares really wake up the bottom end of the power curve.
Just read what the guys with a CaTCHER ECM say...
The "doubled torque" @ 2K is true for a
stock truck, what happens with mods done to the engine? Well that DEPENDS upon the modifications. What is true for one truck might not be for another one with different mods.
The peak hp number @ about 2700 Rpm is almost the same for all softwares from #4 to # 9. What makes them different one from the other is HOW they get to the peak Hp. What happens in the range from let's say 1200 to 2300 is quiet different.
I firmly believe that is the most important Rpm range in the real world, the road.
Saying it with Old Blue's words, the lower sw's are not less horsepower they are "less catcher". That has surprised almost all beta testers.
I've changed the "throttle response" in that RPM range. Then lower the sw # then less aggressive the torque raise the engine develops.
WHY?
In my mind, there are several reasons for it. Icy roads, different modifications done to the engine like injectors, turbo, transmission ( Torque converter! ), taller tires just to mention a few. One should be able to find a software in Smarty that matches his trucks and personal needs best.
Does that make sense? I hope so.
To come to the bottom line. Smarty's peak Hp numbers are similar to other non wire tapping boxes. What makes Smarty very different is what happens
before that number.
