Smarty updates

I have the latest updates in my Smarty file on my computer, but I cannot remember how to get it from the file to the smarty using Winzip. I was able to download earlier versions so I believe the correct drivers are installed.



Could someone please take me by the hand and help a computer illiterate through the process! I have read and re-read the instructions on MADS website but I am just not getting it.



The file I am trying to download is SMT3EV307D102B, I was able to get it to my smarty folder on my computer but now I need assistance getting it to download to my programmer. I plug the programmer into the computer and it acts like I am connected to my truck. What do I DO NEXT? HELP PLEASE!

I just wanted to say hows it going..... Its not often that i see someone from spokane on here..... I would help ya but i will be in the same boat you are when they come out with smarty updates for the 06's.....

1. download the USB driver (if you haven't already)

2. plug in the smarty and when it detects new hardware specify the driver location (don't let it automatically search) as being where you unzipped the drivers. That directory will have:

D2XX Release Info. txt

D2XX_EX. doc

FTD2XX. dll

FTD2XX. H

ftd2xx. inf

FTD2XX. lib

FTD2XX. sys

FTD2XXUN. INI

FTDIUNIN. EXE​

3. down the smarty USB application and unzip it somewhere. Then double click on the file . exe file that you just extracted:

SmartyUSB. exe​

4. Once the application starts pick file>open and select your image. Then click send... . and wait (it takes a while).

Howdy, Doughboy21kd, your right there are not alot of us in this area. We will have to get together sometime and compare notes!



WOT, Thank You, I will try that, it just seems that I am not getting that far, maybe... do I need a new driver for each program? I was able to download earlier versions. My winzip trial period had expired so I just downloaded a newer version and I will try again.

You only need to install the driver once. After that you only have to plug in the Smarty and start the SmartyUSB. exe application.



If the driver is not installed right I would expect you should get an error message that says something like "there was a problem installing drivers, your device may not function properly. "
