smarty?

I'm new to this site and had my diesel for a little over a year now. For some reason ever since i joined this site(love it) i get the feeling that i should have bought the smarty instead of the edge. Can anyone help me to understand why everyone has the smarty? TY

You don't mention which "edge" you have. The Smarty is popular because it really wakes up the bottom, yes there is some smoke to pay for this. Second, the Smarty is constantly evolving and upgradable via the internet by the user. Third, the Smarty will flat lay down the power if you have the transmission and turbo to take it, yet it will give nice gains if your running stock.

The Edge is an amazing product as is the Smarty. They go about producing power in a different way. The smarty downloads its own software into the ecm. The Edge changes signals from the ecm to the engine. The Smarty is not detectable by the dealer the Edge is somewhat. The guage option with the Edge attitude is an excellent tool. I sell Edge and Bullydog both work great. Tried the Smarty once and wont look back.

If you want smoke the Smarty is certainly capable! One other thing, the Smarty really changes the truck, other fuel enhancers seem sort of like variations on the same theme. Smarty on the other hand is noticeably different, you may or may not like it, but it won't be like anything else you'll try.

I have run both in my truck. I loved the gauges and switch on the fly functionality of the EDGE, especially when towing. The Smarty gave me 100Hp and 200lb/ft more power on 7 than I was getting out of the EDGE box. I love power, so thats where I went. My truck is still under warranty also, so the Smarty is easier to deal with when there is a warranty issue.

The feature on the smarty which i really like is that you can add fuel without timing. That i think is very helpful in certain situations. For example: I About one month ago i stacked a 50hp tune from superchips with my edge and on the third edge level my truck started to ping like nothing i've ever herd. I'm assuming that this happened because of too much timing. With the smarty that particular situation would have been fixable by adding the just fuel tune.

Can you stack the smarty with edge?

Find somebody local to you and borrow their Smarty for a test drive be warned you will be buying one:-laf the only draw back I see is on the fly adjustablity. I had an 06 play with me on the freeway the other day first side by side I walked away pretty easy second time he pulled me with a jump I deffently had a harder time getting around him thats when I noticed the edge on the dash Im sure he cranked it up the second time thankfully I had my Smarty on level 7:-laf Randy

I avoided the Edge. Didn't want to increase the rail pressure on the injectors. The Smarty works great.
