My BiL has a 94 Dakota 4x4 with the 318. He doesn't drive it often. He said recently it smells of gas in the cab, but not under the hood. There is no visible gas on the ground. Even when the fan is on high, he gets no additional smell in the cab. Could this be a fuel line leak under the truck? Anyone have any similar experiences? He lives in Seattle, so I don't know if the hoses even dry out up there. TIA

Probably a fuel line weeping some. Also, don't the gas engines have a vapor recirculation line to the tank? You may want to check that for cracks. You wouldn't smell it under the hood but it would gather in the cab.

I've seen on a Dakota... There are 2 lines, steel braded, that go from the frame rail to the engine. I had a set (one leaked, when I bumped the other it started) that went bad under the brading.
