Starting yesterday after I drove the truck pretty hard the night before. Everytime a stop or turn off truck and get out. . I want to choke it smells like burnt clutch. I have a 98. 5 5 spd 4x4. I noticed a little more slippage than usual when letting out the clutch in 2nd. . I start in 2nd usually. But as soon as it engaged it feels solid no slippage. . So I went under the truck smelled near clutch and it smelled strong of clutch. . Also I get the same smell near the turbo when truck is running.

So im not sure what to do. Like i said it seems to work fine. But there is a major clutch smell everytime I stop. . Also I have been trying really hard to not use the clutch as much as possible. Keep it real short. . and still it smells just as bad. .

If anyone has some advice it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Aaron

I had the same thing happen to me after racing my old Chev in the local mud drags, I smelled the clutch for over a week. Even if your clutch is starting to go, you wont feel it in the lower gears, it will start to slip in the high gears first.
