Smog Equipment

In the Denver area are there any extra smog equipment added to the CTD for the 2003 - 2005 model years ?? I was talking with a salesman today and he indicated that there was.

2004. 5 and up got a cat, but no egr system yet. 2003-2004 don't got any of that evil stuff unless it is a 5 states version 235hp one [cali, maine, new york, mass, CT???]
