Smoke at start up

I have A 96 stock Cummins that runns rough & snokes A lot

at stsrt up white smoke & smeels the diesel then it clears up runns good all day no smoke next morning same thing I have changed the lift pump & return hose in September this problem just started A week ago Out side temp is 65 degrees
