I would be asking about HOW they fixed the first overhead, or did they rep;ace it at the same time they replaced the instrument cluster? It would seem to me that the dealership should be able to program the mileage or have it programmed the same day it is shipped, that sound odd, but then again, so many things they do are odd it may just be normal. I hope you don't have a 2 week wait this time, they should provide you with a loner car since you are at a point of a two-time problem.
Have box/programmer - that seems to just be their standard catch-all for whatever might be an issue. Sorry excuse if you ask me, why don't they just get something right straight out of the factory, and then if something does creep into the warranty picture, especially something like this the second time, get it fixed once and for all. Ask them if they ever heard of overnight delivery? I suppose they would want to pass that expense your way too. As far as the tow truck, if THEY ordered it, it's THEIR problem. I have always requested a flatbed when having something towed, especially a 4x4.
There was a fellow whose truck went up in flames, maybe this was his issue also. I don't recall him being back to tell his final story. He had very low mileage if I recall correctly. In any event, they NEED to take care of you with some respect. You are the one who has the investment, not them. Their only investment after the sale seems to be to chastise people regarding getting anything done under THEIR warranty, must also be by their rules, but they change them every day.
I find it hard to believe that they think a programmer plugs into the instrument cluster, gives a really poor idea in my mind of what else kind of stupidity they have regarding other add-ons, eh? I got a lot of static about my gauges from them too, my only reply to them was if they offered correct monitoring instrumentation I would have not had to have installed them. At minimum they could have offered them as an option.
