There is a cap on the top of my fuel injection pump, which I'm sure you all know about. Is the smoke screw under that? I tried to pry it out using a small screw driver, but I can't get it to pop out. But I thought that I would quit trying until i was completely sure thats where it was. I'm lookin for just a bit more smoke... but not too much. Thanks!

yup thats what your pryin on. The cap can be tight and I've read that some are downright determined to stay in. Under the cap is a 13mm locknut and a #25 torx screw. Turning that clockwise (1/4 turn for me made a diff) will increase the early fueling/smoke and improve your 'launch'feel. Counterclockwise just the opposite of coures. I've read that at full throttle you should have a "grey translucent cloud" not black. This indicates near idea fueling. OPEN TO CORRECTION PIERS !
Hope that helps.

Josh,

Try a pocketknife blade. Lot thinner than a screwdriver.

Funny that you mention a pocket knife... i tried usuing a knife of sorts... and the tip broke off in between the cap and the cavity that the cap sits in. Its not a problem, there is no damage being done, but thats my experience with a knife and the injection pump cap. I'll keep working on it though. Also maybe I should consider "stacking" the truck if I want to blow smoke... don't want to blind everybody in traffic... although I've always wanted stacks... need to lift it too... so much to do... but so fun!

For what the cap is worth, just drill a small hole in the middle and insert a small metal screw, voila!

Hey I just had a thought... did you buy your truck new? If not then perhaps the old owner already had that off and sealed it back. I read somewere in here that you can remove the cap and when done, put it back with a bit of locktite or somesuch thing to give it the "untampered" look/feel.
But hey... what do I know. ;-)
