Smoke?

Hello everyone. I am new to the site and have a quick question. I noticed that when I started my truck this morning I was getting a little bit of blueish/black smoke at idle. Is this normal? I did a search on here and it seems that if you have a white smoke it is most likely an injector going bad, but I didn't see any topics about the blueish/black smoke. Also, my truck seems to smoke more than the other 3rd gen's I have seen around, mostly when accelerating heavily going up hill. Any comments from you guys would be appreciated, as this site has helped me numerous times in the past. By the way, the truck is completely stock. Also, I changed the air filter about 1k miles ago and the fuel filter at about 3k, so I have kind of ruled out the air filter being clogged. Thanks again.

My 05 smokes under load. Under hard acceration after just cruising for a while, it will produce a cloud of black smoke that is pretty thick.



When starting or idling there is no smoke at all..... just heat.

my 05 puffs out a blueish smoke at start up but goes away in about 5 seconds. also if you baby it around awhile and then take it on the highway you'll get smoke.

i haven't had any problems and hopefully stays that way.

I forgot to mention... ... . My truck was reflashed for the smoke on startup when it was new. Don't know if you've ever had that done but the reflash stopped my from smoking on startup. My smoke was white though rather than blue/black.

Thanks for the replies. I haven't noticed any white smoke yet. As far as I know, my truck hasn't had any reflashes done to it. If I get time I will try and take it to the shop this week.
